arrived into the sunny land of preston late afternoon on sunday, picked up the keys to my room and dropped off all my belongings, before heading over to Blackpool to have one last look at the illuminations...
This collection was my favourite...
there were a few of them, all with different faces...
The illuminations themselves... it goes on for about 10 miles of these lights,
all with different themes...
though very difficult to take pictures of in a moving car...
I like this one because it's kind of arty...
was trying to take a picture of the lights when a car drove past...
all matrix like!
the indians in this display were dancing around...
we sat here for a good couple of minutes just so
i could get a nice picture...
lots of honks from the people behind were heard!
Nothing like a glowing MMMMMM's to help find the trusty macdonalds! :O)
It was a fun evening... i personally love Blackpool and all it's tack... it's just so hilarious that it's an actual city and like this all the time...
i've got lots of videos of the lights... but be thankful that blogger won't even let me upload one...
after getting to the end of the illuminations and not wanting to line up to go through again...
we went in search of some fireworks for Guy Fawkes day..
follow the bangs!
monday saw me head back to work in preston, and it honestly felt totally different to edinburgh..
everyone was actually happy to see me, it as like coming back to work after a long holiday...
it's like i never left at all
there's another locum here as well, she started about a month ago now, who's from victoria i think, and has been over this way locuming for 5 years already, but no one really knows much about her... she's 40 and not that talkative, though in saying that, i've only spent about 5mins with her.
she's living on the hospital gounds as well, though i have yet to find out which block she's in...
though my new mission is to work out her story cause who goes backpacking through the world when you're that age... unless you have an interesting tale to tell..
don't worry i will get to the bottom of it, i always do!
so that should keep me occupied for my time here...
back in the same little box of a room, with a delicious view overlooking the duck pond...
the view at night... now that it's always dark!
and the same messy floor mate, much to my amusement!
walked in to find the kitchen sink full of dirty dishes and the like, and pots and pans with gunky stuff all over them! i was like... he's still here!
though he must have been lonely there on the floor all on his ownsome, as he's become extremely chatty this week...
we're having a challenge on who can set off the fire alarm the quickest and for the shortest amount of time...
i'm winning with me filling the kitchen with smoke in a grand totaly of 40 seconds! (don't ask!)
it's still smells smokey in there day's later
but i love being able to cook again, still have yet to use the oven....
it's just constant mockery between us as we share the implements, i should make it my mission to make him cleaner... though i think i would be losing and already failing battle there...
though it's nice to have someone random to chat to of an evening..
sure beats looking at the 4 colourless walls..
loving my find of season 9 of ER in ASDA too... bargin price too!
oh how i love ER...
but making my way through there ridiculously fast...
it's the perfect length for lunch time viewing
and it's fantastic to be within commuting distance of Y again..
i think we've seen more of each other in the last week then we managed the whole time i was up in edinburgh, and it's good.
Am in london for the weekend, for some city lights and such... which is great...
nothing like going from one end of the country to the other in a week!
i miss having the internet... it was great having access up in scotland,
i'll admit that i think i'm getting a bit too addicted to facebook... maybe this break will do us good! :O)
though it's no fun getting emails with messages from facebook, when you cant access it!
hahaha
though finally mangaged to get the computer to let me reply to a few emails at work... seems in my abscence they've restricted it even more... though i can read emails, i can only randomly reply... ahhh the joys of working for the nhs...
so if you email me i will get back to you, and i do appreciate it! i'm not ignoring you i promise!
oh and i don't think i ever mentioned that i was heading to the land of Egypt...
in 10 days... for a long weekend...
getting excited and slightly put off with all the horror stories people are telling me about...
i'm just hoping they let me into the country as i'm going with a friends opinion that you can get the visa as you enter at the airport...
though that may not be the case and i cant find out for sure...
mmmm
but i'm going to catch up with Tash and James so it's going to be a laugh... i just have to survive a day and a half before they get there! :O)

Yeah I like how you said COMPUTING DISTANCE.
Sounds like you're going to be happy there and I'm excited for you about Egypt!! hope that works out well :D.
I need to update my blog.
You haven't gone to Egypt yet, have you? I feel like your FB said 10 days, but I could be imagining that. Have fun, either way!
Hey, you youthful thing - I'm going to be 40 in Feb and then I'm going cycle touring (which is pretty much backpacking, on wheels!). It's not that odd, is it? You'll see - when you reach 40, you still feel 20 :-)
