We were warned by Mustafa that we should bring supplies, as we would be stopping nowhere there was food…
so supplies we brought! (we had enough food for several days!)
Drove thorough another section of the national park, complete with all the beautiful autumn leaves, and stopped for a mini walk amongst it all..
Had one of those F@#$ moments in amongst it all…
But survived… barely
The Highlight of the day was our picnic lunch in No-mans land…
the area between the Bosnian Border, and the Montenegro Border, that no one has claimed since the wars..
It was so peaceful sitting, listening to the tinkling of cowbells in the valley below, eating lunch no where!
The trouble began as we got to the Montenegro Border.
Poor Tini was travelling on a Malaysian passport, and do you think they were going to let her in without a visa… nope…
She’d called ahead and asked the embassy if she required one, however they’d told her no she didn’t..
But the border guards thought otherwise…
Many phone calls later, we set back across the Bosnian border and headed inland to another border crossing..
Crossed over yet another Bosnian border only to turn around again..
And onto a larger border control
Meanwhile we had poor wanderer in the back of the bus sighing loudly every time we turned around..
Where we crossed over the Bosnian Border again, but once again the Montenegro Guards refused to let her through.
So back across the Bosnian border, and we had to leave poor Tini in a town just near the border, so that we could carry on.
Thankfully there was a bus straight from there to Dubrovnik in the morning and it was only about 30mins…
so we left her to meet again in Dubrovnik..
Crossed over the border, and they let us through into Montenegro… finally… after 7 crossings of the Bosnian Border!!!
Arrived into Kotor rather late and settled into our accommodation…
Dinner was had at the restaurant. Tash was brave and tried the chaos salad..
Which one would think would be something of mixed salad… instead it came out like a dip… interesting…
Yvonne, Gill and I went for what we thought was a safe option of a cheeseburger.. And ended up with a hamburger pattie, with the weird Bosnian/Montenegrin cheese mixed in… it was again rather interesting…
Somehow ended up on the beach after the restaurant and bar closed, admiring the lake and all the lights.
Left Sandy in Mustafa’s capable hands and headed up to bed.
Awoke to a gorgeous morning, with the fog lifting from the lake, to realise that we were surrounded by a gorgeous mountain range.
We'd arrived in the dark and hadn’t noticed…
It was so pretty
Had breakfast before setting off to explore Kotor.
Had a mini no tour though the town, as only Montenegrins are allowed to give tours here. So Mustafa illegally showed us around, before leaving us at the entrance to the wall.
We set off up up and up the cobblestone walkways and stairs, stopping often to capture the views and rest!..
Not to mention the many random photo opportunities we found…
bring on the timer shot… we lined up all the cameras and it was ready set go….
The results were rather amusing!!!
Not to mention our location… we hadn’t realised but we were standing in what many had used as a toilet… ick!
All in aid of photography!!!
Took us about 1 hour to reach the flag at the top… where we stood admiring the view, before heading back down the mountain to meet Mustafa..
So much easier heading back down!!!
Back on the bus as we headed to a beach side town
Where Tash provided us with an impromptu lunch of crackers tomato, and oranges, while sitting at the beach.
Wandered around the old town for a bit, and sat dangling our feet in the water before heading back to Kotor..
Wandered all over Kotor, leaving not a stone unturned, before hitting the cocktails…
Ended up having dinner at a pasta/pizza restaurant, that mentioned it’s a no smoking restaurant when we entered, much to our delight.. Our first meal without inhaling smoke with every mouth full!
Before hading back to have drinks with Mustafa at the hotel… it was after all our last night with him.
