Eggs anyone?!

The bus was extremely late in picking us up in Taupo, so it was pretty much straight through to Rotorua with no stops in between, dropped off in the city and made our way to out microtel.... nte to self, when it's called microtel, expect it to be micro...

our room consisted of a bunk bed with about 30cm to move between the wall and the bed, and absolutely no where to put anything... one could say slightly cramped!

set off to explore and breathe in the fragrant sulphur enriched air of Rotorua!

Started off in Kulrau Park the volcanic area that's known to simmer andboil away, and we weren't disappointed at all

I loved it, sulphur smell and all, there's noting like the soothing sound of bubbling mud!

Woke to a miserable day, an spent much of it randomly wandering around the town trying to avoid raindrops.

were picked up around 3pm and headed up the road to the beach town of Mt Manganui, which on this particular day was bleak and dreary and not a soul was out and about...

settled into our hostel, not to happy that we'd booked a twin room, but were put in a dorm room, and told we might expect guests... thankfull they never came, B was ready to scream...

it was a nice hostel, would have been a great place to stay on a sunny day where you could get out and enjoy relaxing on the beach and such.

Next morning we boarded the bus and headed out to waitomo.

We weren't given much time to do do any of the activities, so all we could do was the nanna option of the walk and then cruise through the glowworms...

it was nice, shame we weren't aloud to take pictures there were some awesome rock formations to be seen, not to mention the glow worms themselves...

it was like looking up into a sky of stars, much like the roof in the dinning room of hogwarts!

it was all over too soon and we were back on the bus and up to Auckland for the night.

on the way into Auckland the driver informed us that our hostel for the night was in the "red light district" of Auckland... excellent!

needless to say there were some interesting shops on the surrounding streets, and a fish bowl with mermaids in it next door! interesting..

had to laugh at B as she went downstairs in her PJ's late, and a police car stopped and they were getting out, so she quickly fled back into the hostel, nicotine fix forgotten!
