adventures already

I couldn't have picked a worse day to move... half my trip was in torrential rain, where you couldn't see more than 2m in front of you... i was so sure i was going to crash... but i made it all the way to Surrey, my new home for the next 3 weeks.. it did take me about 6hrs of almost solid driving...

it's about 30mins south west of london

the accomodation is one of the best i've stayed in to date, (so far) thank god, as to even book the room i had to make a months deposit before i even got here...
  • the window opens and shuts, so no gale force winds rushing through of a night and sending the window flying
  • the floor doesn't see to be moving when you look at it, and it looks safe enough to stand without shoes on
  • the bed isn't covered in hard plastic, and actually feels comfortable, for a change... (though anything would feel comfortable after sitting in a car for 6hrs)
  • the pillows also don't have that plastic feel to them...
  • the room itself has shelves... i can actually properly unpack
  • the kitchen seems clean, there's no dishes piled up in the corner with mold growing on them, however there is no microwave... i guess it's time to cook again!
  • i'm only sharing my section with 4 others it seems...
  • it's very security conscious, you need to have your key on you all the time, as the doors lock behind you...
  • and there's a giant Tesco's a few mins walk down the road
Since being here about 2hrs i've already managed to losoe my hire car in the Carpark... it was daylight when i went in, and dark when i came out... and do you think i could find it any where...

after wandering around for about 30mins pushing the button, finally i found a car that flashed in time with me pushing the button... i almost melted in relief...

then i get back to my accomodation block, and go to get my key, and it's not there...

after searching and almost giving myself a strip search in the pourig rain... cause the keys had to be there, they just had to...

i admitted defeat,

they were gone..

it didn't stop me searching everywhere again.. just to be certain they hadn't been missed

it's late, everywhere's shut, there's no way in, i have no idea where i've lost them...

what do i do?

In a last ditch attempt i headed back to the carpark and retraced my steps, (managing in the process to find where i was parked...)

and there it was....

floating in the middle of a huge puddle...

I almost cried with relief..

i must have dropped them in my excitment at finding my car...

so now i've vowed not to leave the room again...

atleast for tonight...

any guesses as to how many more times i'm going to lock myself out in the next 3 weeks?
