Easter in Cornwall

Up nice an early to the sounds of hail against the window panes, had us snuggling back under the covers till we came to the conclusion that it wasn't going too..
Headed south to St Ives where the sun made it's first appearance.
St Ives, once was cornwalls most important pilchard harbours, but has since reinvented itself as a haven for the arts, with many impressive gallery's to visit.

A way out of town we found ouselves in the midst of the cornish farm lands, where tractor and horses were more common than cars.
with gorgeous views of the coast.
we came across all sorts of ruins as we drove through the winding roads, hardely spotted another car..

Ruins of an old mine

Came across many a delightful sandy beach, it's no wonder many people flock here in summer..

Sennen cove

Headed down to Land's End, where the uk comes to a screeching stop.

Lands End being the most westerly spot of the British mainland..

the scenery was spectaular, with black granite cliffs and heather covered headlands, teetering above the booming atlantic surf. The sun came out at the perfect moment

Lands end itself is hugely the site is very commercialised, you even have to pay to have your photo taken with the famous signpost...

Just up the road we stopped for a drink at the First and Last Inn.

Headed along the coast line and to the Minack Theatre.. where i instantly fell in love.

It's an amphitheatre created in the side of a Cornwall cliff.

The brainchild of one woman, Rowena Cade, who decided to turn her garden into a theatre in the 1930s. She and her gardener did much of the hard work themselves, carrying stone up from the beach or down from the house to create a stage area and the amphitheatre-style seating.

The result (and its subsequent renovations) is really an amazing place,

with one big disadvantage for actors and performers: until it's completely dark, the backdrop of cliffs and sea is a very distracting one.

The view from the theatre.

It would be such a privileged to be able to see any kind of show performed at such an incredible venue.

I'd love to come back in summer and be amazed.
