what's the deal with share accomodation!?!

i long for my own house, a clean bathroom, and a kitchen that's useable... is that too much to ask for???
share accomodation may be cheap but is it worth rishing your sanity for?

that is the question that has been running through my head over the last few weeks.. since i've headed back from my visit home..

this is the first time i've actually felt as though i may be experiencing a wee amount of homesickness, in the fact that i want "my" things..

i want to be able to stand in the shower, with the perfect temperatured water, barefooted, without a worry that i'm going to catch everything imaginable..

instead i find myself sharing a bathroom with 15 others on my floor, 2 toilets from the dark ages and one shower that has about as much pressure as a flat tyre, and a temperature just above freezing point, and a variety of things growing in it no doubt, and needs some 10year physics degree in order to get it to work..

you'd think living with a bunch of people working in the health profession might also allieviate some of the horrible germ like creatures normally found in share bathrooms, but no they're ripe and present in all forms of glory... (admittedly i am living in the students and newly qualified section, so it's more the cheaper the better)... but still common sense people, we didn't all grow up in a brothel...

If you were sharing a bathroom with 15 other people, and knew that the shower is small, has no soap holders etc no hooks to hang things on etc, and 15 other people would be using that same shower (hopefully every night/day) would you leave your sponge/body gloves hanging in the shower, over the shower head??... this isn't just a one time occurance... they've been there almost a week... It's just rude... now by the colour of them (bright pink) i'm guessing they belong to a female on the floor... unless of course there is an unmanly type i have yet to meet

i'm tempted to do something with them, hide them or throw them out... or dip them in something disgusting...
it pisses me off no end...

the kitchen too... again there's 15 of us sharing this speck of a kitchen, it's got enough room to have 2 people in it at any one time, and people stand in there slaving over the stove for hours cooking some foul smelling broth...
or people take things out of the fridge to get to something else, and you come back and they've forgotten about it, so it's been sitting there all day on the counter instead of being safe and cold in the fridge..

common sense people... it's not hard..

i found the laundry today, 2 pounds a wash (of which it ate my first 2 pounds so i had to put it in again) 2 washers and one dryer, for about 60 people living here...

and a dryer that you can only put 20p in for 10mins drying time, before it stops... needless to say all my wet clothes are now hanging about my room trying to dry..

i just want to be able to wash my clothes when i want, cook what i want when i want, be able to leave food in the fridge without it being ruined by non thinking gits, or eaten by stingy students!

i long for the day when i can stand barefooted in the shower again without gaining some fungi from doing so...

i think i've had it easy in the accomodation sense for the last few months,

in Preston i was sharing with just one other, then Belfast i had my section mainly to myself... it's just annoying having to share...

and i'm paying $150 aus a week for the privledge...

work has been amusing... spent the first half of today playing with peoples bums.. doing virtual colonoscopy's 9 in fact in a row...

nothing like the view of peoples faces when they're having a tube inserted into their rear passage... disturbing muchly... before being pumped full of gas, to bursting point... then being told to roll around on this narrow table whilst trying to hold it all in... we're a horrible race i tell ya..

a patient that had to wear a hat while being scanned as it was her anti radiation hat, that protected her from radiation...

multiple patients with fungating breasts... the odour alone is enough to have you keeling over...

Ladies check yourselves, if you find a lump, go to the Dr don't ignore it and hope that it'll disappear... it wont... and at least you're giving youself a chance at beating it and surviving... denying signs can hinder prognosis, diagnosis and treatment.. and never let it get this bad...
