Small things...

it's funny the things you notice when you realise your time is almost up in a place...

  • the fact that you now can succesfully navigate yourself around the city, without the aid of a map, and give directions to anyone who asks (i never said they had to be the right directions!)
  • i can actually find tube stations! ( i swear they're hidden!)
  • the children that live in the complex i'm in, outside playing, sometimes i just wish i could head out and play too... they've got this bike jump all made up just outside, and come flying down the road and jump over things... lol not good for the poor man that parked his car at the bottom of the street... it no has the front of a bike implanted into the side... lol (he now parks round the corner!)
  • the craziness that decends on the city centre on a sunny day... people everywhere, the street performers, bagpipers it just has an amazing buzz... though on a wet miserable day, there's no one to be seen for miles...
  • the funny people i encounter on the AM bus... most of us head to the same hospital to work, and all of us have "our" seats... lol it's amusing everyone always sits in the same place day in day out... and the occasional run in with stabber...
  • then not to be outdone are the PM people...
  • the scary old man that i was once scared of, that now is a friend...
  • the crazy receptionist from across the way, who never comes out until 515pm... cause she doesn't want to look like she's waiting... that always calls about 10 people to let them know she's on the bus...
  • the clerk that every friday waits with me for what seems like hours for the buses that never come... even though we escape early... still end up catching the late bus!
  • then there's the hamster loving freak, that gives presents.. and is scary!
  • the fact that i realised i really do have just 14 days left at work...
  • and people actually seemed upset that i was actually leaving when i spread it round today... (they might actually like me... go figure!)
  • our one light that works
  • the feeling of importance when everyone knows you... when you walk down a corridor and everyone you pass, you know and stop and have a chat with...
  • being able to joke around with the Drs... lol you learn pretty quickly the ones you can and cant!
  • the ones that joke back
  • the amusing "in" jokes N and i have had... (she was almost in tears today because i was leaving...lol and it's not even for another few weeks!) lol though goes who's going to break everything now!
  • the fact that we just need to look at one another and can read minds... hahaha (nothing brings people closer than constant bullying by the boss)
  • as much as her niceness bugged me at times just for being so nice!
  • i've worked pretty much side by side with her every day for the last 4 months...
  • and i'm sure we'll be friends for years!

the fantastic atmosphere at work today...

omg it was amazing...

it was pleasant... the boss should be away more often... (hey she is... the whole week!)

woke up this morning and looked out to this amazingly sunny day... thought about calling in sick until i remembered the evil one wasn't in...
got to make the most of my days left!

seems we have the option to head into work next monday though... it's a bank holiday in the uK... only scottish radiographers have to have a study day...
so i have the option of having a day off and not getting paid... or heading into work and getting paid to do nothing! mmmm think i'll decided when i wake up and check out the weather...

been watching the last season of dawsons creek (the half that was never aired in AUS)
hahaha i remember when DC was the show to watch, that every Friday we'd discuss every aspect of it on the train to school in the morning...

one flat mate comes back on saturday.. exciting... but sad... i've had fun on my own!

had a hilarious moment yesterday, when i thought hey, i'll have a nice relaxing bath...

anyways all was good... until i found a button...

mmmm seems the bath was a spa bath, and i found the button to make the jets go...
and decided in my wisdom to push it....

think jets that haven't been used in ages...
thing jets splurting a lovely shade of greenery at you....

omg i jumped out so quickly i almost fell over...

needless to say the lovely bath i was planning was a write off!

hahaha and the bath took ages to clean...

though now the jets themselves are now clean! hahaha

too funny...

now though seem to be having a problem with the hot water... it's like none existent... mmmm
and the heating.. it's been freezing at nights, and do you think i an work out how to get the heating on.... nope... ( i think they turned it off though before they left...) because try as i might i cant get it to work... needless to say a few nights i've gone to bed in layers and layers of clothes!
and this is meant to be spring!

but R's back soon, and she's good at fixing everything...

interesting encounter on the bus this morning.... bus rides can be so enlightening...

anyways off to play...

night

You're in Edinburgh, aren't you? Possibly my favourite city- I was there for a week in the summer of 2005, including my 21st b'day. I had that best days sitting on the Meadows, writing and reading and watching people practice hurling, under the shadows of Arthur's Seat... omg, I want to go back now!
