Today i almost squealed in delight...
i've been doing a lot of squealing in the last few days, first it was the snow, then at the sight of something to disturbing to mention at work, now at sight of my bank balance...... that's right i've actually been paid...
I was warned by a few people about this particular agency's ability to "forget" to pay you, then make up all sorts of reasons as to why you haven't been paid... and what do you know happens..
i don't get paid for 5 weeks.. i know for a fact that the hospital i was with paid the agency the monday after my first timesheet went in...
so maybe they're doing something suss with all the money, trying to make a tidy profit for them all...
the first week i gave them the benefit of the doubt... i'd jut registered with them, so maybe they hadn't completely organised everything...
the second... i thought well maybe i'll get paid at the end of the week, a week behind... ie you work the week, then get paid the week after...
the third... i was begining to get annoyed... after calling them, and having them tell me i should be paid that week, i happily awaited payment..
the fourth week... with still no sign of any dosh... i sent email after email, and left message after message... recieving "you should have been paid, i don't know where it might have gone... are you sure you didn't get paid..."
like i'd be calling you asking where my money was if i got paid... seriously...
anyway this week, 5 weeks after working the first week, i got paid...
FINALLY
I wouldn't have minded that much had i not been back in OZ before that for 2 months, and only worked 4 weeks since i got back...
not quite rolling in the money i'd like to be... must really buy one of those lottery tickets and win 40 000 pounds... it might even beat the odds on whether or not the agency will pay me again..
it had me feeling like when i first got over here and i was still using my aussie dollars... they vanished like it was snow on a sunny day..
not knowing when the next payslip was going to be, and how long i was going to need to ration out my money... it's really not a nice feeling, especially after you've gone from having a full time job and were used to the fortnightly pay every fortnight without fail...
suddenly you're in the unknown...
I'm in the process of trying to organise work with this agency again for the Isle of Man Job... i'm seriously thinking that i should reconsider.. but i really want to go to the Isle of Man, not only to xray the bones protruding from skin, but because how cool would it be to say i was on the Isle of man for the TT races! ANd this agency some how has the only contract for people to work over there.
But if they're not going to pay me... mmm
I'm having a love hate relationship with work at the moment... some moments i love it, others i cant wait to escape...
I've only been there a little over a week, and i already feel like i've been there for months...
i should start my mentioning that i really dislike feet... it's one of the parts i dislike about my job
today was Foot day... YAY!
multiple xrays of feet, all shapes sizes, differing states of cleanliness..
Question:
if you were going to hospital to have someone look at your foot... wouldn't you make sure it looked acceptable... maybe give it a wash.. or put on clean socks... possibly trim your nails?
seems the people of Surrey, do not believe in washing their feet... if the ones today are any indicator...
i almost gagged many a time...
how can you not smell that you foot smells like rotting flesh... seriously... how can you not smell that...????
is it too much to ask you to was your feet once a year....
once a year people!
have pity on the poor radiographer who not only has to get there face in close to position your foot, but also has to touch it....
please have pity!
we really don't get paid enough...
end of rant...
thankfully we move up the leg tomorrow, and get the Knee Clinic...

Oh Yuck!
I'd definitely wash my feet. Hell, I get embarrassed going to a shoe store if I'm not wearing stockings.
They took 5 WEEKS to pay you?! Unacceptable!!
these people should be banned from reproducing i tell you...
it's just wrong to turn up with mud dipping off your feet and socks that look like they've been worn since the millenium...
and i thought surrey was meant to be posh.
I thought I should stop being a bad blog friend and stop just reading your blog and comment. but it seems other people are doing it :D.
Yeah late paying sucks.
